1. What are Vitalife teas?

Vitalife teas are a range of healthy teas (and a cocoa!) that are specifically designed to provide certain health benefits.

From boosting energy, to fuelling metabolism, to aiding restful sleep, all the way through to providing you with good fats as part of a healthy balanced diet.

Every single ingredient in our teas is carefully selected to ensure that it adds a good degree of both flavour and health properties to each blend.

What makes our teas unique is the fact that we blend fine tea, with beneficial herbs, and natural supplements to formulate some of the most effective teas for particular purposes.

That’s why we call them ‘teas with purpose’.

2. Do our teas contain caffeine?

Some do, some don’t. It depends on the blend you choose.

We always show which of our teas contain caffeine on our product listings in our online shop and also on the packaging of the tea itself.

3. How much Vitalife tea should I drink to achieve the best results?

In most cases, 3-4 cups a day is recommended – but it really depends on the blend you choose, and the purpose for which you choose it.

For instance, it wouldn’t be a good idea to drink 3-4 cups of our ‘calming’ tea all in the last hour before bed in an attempt to aid restful sleep, because you’ll be up all night going to the toilet! In this instance, one cup would suffice just before bed to give the desired effects – without giving you a full bladder.

4. How should I prepare and serve my Vitalife tea?

Again, this depends on the blend you choose, and why you choose it.

If, for instance, you choose our Everyday blend (with Alamaki superfruit), you might just like to enjoy this with milk as you would do with any other traditional cup of tea (and perhaps even a sugar or sweetener). This way you can enjoy the taste of a traditional brew, with a few added health benefits!

If, on the other hand, you choose our ‘slimming’ blend with the aim of losing weight, it would be wiser to drink this as instructed on the pack – just with hot water, steeping the bag for around 4 minutes and leaving it in while you drink. This way you’re not adding any extra calories or fat in the way of milk, and you’ll be getting maximum benefit from the tea itself (provided you team it with a sensible balanced diet and exercise).

5. Why am I left with sediment in the bottom of my cup?

A little sediment is natural, especially if you follow the instruction to leave the bag in the cup whilst you drink.

The high-quality ingredients which we use in our blends are broken down to small pieces (in fact, the natural supplements we use are even powdered) to maximise surface area and thus the nutrients released during the steeping process. This means that, occasionally, some of these ingredients escape through the mesh of the bag.

6. Is it safe to drink Vitalife teas when pregnant?

The consumption of those Vitalife teas which contain caffeine should be limited as with any other caffeinated beverage according to your doctor’s recommendations.

Vitalife teas also contain several different natural supplements according to the blend you choose (milk thistle, inositol, aloe vera etc.). You should seek your doctor’s advice on these before consuming.

7. Are Vitalife teas organic?

Although our teas are not certified organic, the growing process of all our ingredients is carefully monitored and observed to ensure only the finest quality, safest, and healthiest ingredients are placed in our tea bags.

Vitalife Teas are grown in the Uva Highlands of Sri Lanka, at an altitude of around 5,000-6,000ft – providing a beautifully clear and clean environment for our teas to develop.

Not registering our teas as organic allows us to offer our customers the best of both Worlds – a range of healthy, fine teas at great prices.

8. Is Vitalife a member of the Fairtrade Association?

No. But we take great care in personally ensuring the workers on our tea farms are well-treat and fairly-paid.

There are over 190 employees at our tea farm in Sri Lanka, and the estate is inspected on an annual basis by the Control Union (based in The Netherlands) to ensure good standards are maintained for both people working on the estate, and the environment in which it is situated.

9. I have a nut allergy, is it safe to drink Vitalife tea?

Vitalife teas are packaged in a factory that handles nuts.

Also, one or two of the blends actually contain nuts.

10. Do Vitalife teas use recyclable packaging?

We do our best to minimise our impact on the environment, and as part of this commitment we have ensured that at least 80% of our packaging is made from recyclable materials.

11. I’m not a fan of ‘fancy’ teas, do you offer any traditional blends?

We certainly do! We developed an ‘everyday’ blend (with Alamaki superfruit) for those people looking for the taste of a traditional cuppa, just with a few added health benefits.
